Clayton “Come From Away” is a musical filled with a surprising amount of joy despite the events that prompted the story. The play is based on the hospitality shown to strangers in a little town in Newfoundland, Canada, called Gander. In the days following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, these Newfoundlanders found their town nearly double in population as 38 planes were diverted and forced to land in the nearby airport. I’ll be honest: I wasn’t sure how a musical set in the wake of 9/11 would work. It hardly seemed like a time that warranted a big dance number. Jesuit resistanc to Nazism: Alfred Delp (1907-1945) published in  The Jesuits of Ireland:   Also featured in the social media "Jesuits in Canada and the U.S." Alfred Delp, S.J., a Nazi resister German Pastor and Nazi Resister ALFRED DELP, S.J. (1907-1945) who was executed by the Nazis in Berlin's Tegel Prison at the end of World War II Seeing first hand his country being turned into something he could not stand, Alfred Delp opposed bitterly the rising tide of Nazism, and continued to do so until he was condemned to death for his beliefs. Alfred Delp was born in Mannheim on September 15, 1907, in what is today the southwest of Germany.  Despite being baptized a Catholic, Delp attended a Lutheran school and was confirmed into the Lutheran Church in 1921. However, he had his differences with his Church and soon after asked to be received First Communion and Confirmation as a Catholic.
